It's spring! The long winter seems to be over! Though to be fair, I didn't mind winter all that much. I think I even enjoyed it. I was pretty much going to be housebound for a month of it anyhow, so why not look out the window at some pretty snow?
The snow is long gone now though, and just this week my neighborhood exploded with buds and blossoms. There are daffodils in the park, tiny leaves on trees, and pink, white and yellow blooms everywhere I look. Bloom world, bloom! Give me a green Prospect Park to picnic in! Show me your tulips! Let that explosion of life really get underway.
And did I mention Nils? No? Well, if I can play doting mama for just a minute, in the last two weeks he has done the following things for the first time:
* grabbed a toy
* rolled over
* blown a raspberry
* made a consonant sound (a gurgle-y "g")
* laughed in a long chain - laugh after laugh after laugh
* lifted his head 90 degrees during "tummy time"
Spring indeed.
